my quirt vs the bee-sting whip

A couple toys I'd like to compare are my quirt and what I call my bee-sting whip. The quirt was purchased from the Dressing For Pleasure shop in NJ and the bee-sting whip was purchased from whipmakers Adam and Gillian.

As you can see from the image, the quirt has several parts: a braided leather handle, a flexible braided leather center, and finally two latigo tails. The braided center makes the quirt "whippy" and hence increases the sting of the tails.

When I purchased the quirt, I was with a friend who was shopping for fetish clothing, and I asked her to try it on my leg (I was wearing a skirt). It felt pretty nasty, so I decided it was a good item to purchase. I don't see this item on their website and there was only one in the shop, so I don't know if it's something they carry regularly.

I don't seem to have the hang of the quirt. When using a flogger, I hit a few times lightly until I see where the tails are landing before proceeding to wail away. With the quirt, the spot the tails hit when used lightly are not the same spot that they hit when hitting harder. I tend to a very precise type of sadism, so I don't use this quirt very often.

Adam and Gillian classify my bee-sting whip as a cat, which is technically accurate since it has tails made of round braids; in their catalog, this is the St. Christopher.

However, I find it more significant that it also has a braided center, which makes this whip very "whippy" similarly to the quirt.

This whip is made of nylon, the handle being French-Whipped, followed by the long thick braid that makes this whip seem quirt-like to me, next by the braided tails that make it a cat, and finally by unbraided ends with knots in them.

The knots on the tail ends are what make this whip particularly nasty. Each knot raises a welt that looks like a bee-sting, hence my name for this whip.

Unlike my quirt, the bee-sting whip is extremely easy to use and can be aimed consistently.

It is lightweight, though there's little necessity for wailing away with it. The quirt-like build of this whip means I can use very little force and still raise the pretty welts I so enjoy decorating my submissives with. If used with any serious force, it can easily break skin; for submissives who can indulge my sadism to that degree, it is convenient that the whip is nylon and thus can be sterilized.

This whip has no thud at all, it's pure sting. It's just terribly, horribly nasty. I love it!
